Admission Timeline

For 2025-2026 Applicants*
PRIORITY APPLICATION PERIOD (Sept. 30 - Dec. 2, 2024)

SEPTEMBER 30, 2024 - DECEMBER 2, 2024 
During this time frame, applications are accepted for the 2025-2026 school year.

JANUARY 2025
Acceptance letters are mailed by the
EBR Office of Magnet Programs.

MARCH 2025
Registration for assigned applicants.

EXTENDED APPLICATION PERIODS
Did you miss the priority application period?  Extended application periods are offered.  Seats will be filled on an as available basis.

Admission FAQs

What is the cut off birthdate for entering kindergarten? Students must be 5 years old by September 30th of the year they enter kindergarten.

Can new students be accepted in the middle of the school year? According to EBR district policy, Villa del Rey may not enroll any magnet students after the 10th day of the school year.

What is the annual tuition rate? Zero!  Villa del Rey is a public magnet school within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Tuition is not charged for students who attend.

Is transportation available for Villa del Rey students? Yes! Bus transportation is available for all students enrolled at Villa del Rey.
